OUR PROCESS

Designed for Accuracy.
Built for Long-Term Performance.

Every step of the Valley Solar process is designed to reduce uncertainty and maximize long-term system performance. From detailed design to on-site engineering validation, we make sure the system installed on your home performs exactly as expected.

Step 1: Request a Quote 1-3 Days

Your Schedule. Your Terms.

Getting started is simple — just call our office or use our Easy Quote form to book a time that works for you.

During your first call:

  • You’ll get answers to your initial questions.
  • We’ll gather a few details about your home and energy goals.

From there, we’ll create a customized solar design to review with you at our next meeting.

Step 2: Solar Design Review 3-6 Days

See the Numbers. Know the Value.

Your Valley Solar designer will walk you through a fully interactive solar design, where you can explore “what-if” scenarios — like adding panels or removing trees — and instantly see the results.

Your design review includes:

  • Solar Shade Report: A detailed analysis of your home’s solar potential.
  • Production Estimate: Month-by-month projections of expected energy output.
  • Equipment Options: Recommendations tailored to your goals and budget.
  • Savings Projections: A clear breakdown of your solar ROI and financing options.  If we can’t show you at least 30% savings, we won’t take the project.

Step 3: Engineering Assessment 4–7 Days

Engineered for Accuracy. Performance Guaranteed.

After thousands of installations, we’ve honed every detail of our Engineering Assessment for accuracy and repeatability — giving us the confidence to guarantee your system’s performance.

Time on site: plan for ~2 hours (complex sites may take longer).

During the visit, we:

  • Review the plan with you — We take time on site to review every aspect of the project with you — confirming equipment placement, conduit paths, and aesthetic preferences — so your final design reflects exactly what you expect on installation day.
  • Inspect electrical systems and roof conditions — Evaluate service equipment, roof structure and condition; verify electrical code compliance and confirm readiness. All data is recorded for engineering stamps and permits.
  • Capture high-fidelity data — Collect 200+ high-resolution photos and precise measurements, all uploaded directly into our engineering system.
  • Create a 3D model by drone — Use high-precision drone imagery to safely model your roof and surroundings.
  • Validate design with dual modeling — Reconcile the drone-based 3D model against the design from Step 2. By cross-verifying two data sources, we achieve exceptional accuracy and consistency.

Step 4: Final Design Approval 4–6 Weeks

Clarity Before Commitment

Your designer will meet with you one more time to review the updated system design and walk through the construction agreement. This step ensures you have complete clarity before giving the go-ahead to proceed.

In this meeting, you’ll see:

  • Any updates to your system design based on the Engineering Assessment
  • Adjustments for structural or electrical upgrades (if needed)
  • Your system’s Guaranteed Annual Production, backed by our 95% Solar Production Guarantee
  • A detailed review of the Construction Agreement, warranties, and scope of work
  • A clear explanation of pricing, payment terms, and incentives

Step 5: Permitting & Procurement 4–8 Weeks

We Handle the Heavy Lifting

With your final design approved, Valley Solar manages all permits and utility applications.

We take care of:

  • Engineering stamps and interconnection applications
  • Building, electrical, and fire permits
  • Procurement of all system materials

Step 6: Installation 4–8 Weeks

Smooth, Professional Installation

Every installation begins with a project walk-through led by your installation lead. Together, you’ll review equipment mounting locations, wire paths, and site logistics to make sure everything proceeds exactly as planned.

Because we never use subcontractors, every person on your roof is a licensed Valley Solar electrician or apprentice — trained, background-checked, and committed to delivering quality work.

Our installation standards include:

  • Professional, courteous crews who respect your home and property
  • Strict adherence to Valley Solar and OSHA safety standards
  • A clean job site at the end of each day
  • A post-installation orientation to introduce you to your new system

Step 7: Post-Installation Support Ongoing

Quality & Support That Lasts

Your relationship with Valley Solar doesn’t end when your panels go up. Once your system is online, we audit its performance and enroll you in 10 years of SunAlert™ monitoring at no extra cost.

What you can expect:

  • Performance audit: Within weeks of activation, we verify your system is producing as projected — and make immediate corrections if it’s not.
  • Personal follow-up: You’ll receive a courtesy call once your system receives permission to operate (PTO).
  • 24/7 monitoring: SunAlert™ tracks your system continuously and alerts our team at the first sign of underperformance, so we can act before you even notice.
  • Guaranteed results: Your 95% Solar Production Guarantee ensures your system delivers the energy we promised.
  • Dedicated local service: Our in-house service team supports hundreds of systems across Western Massachusetts and will be here for decades.

Awesome experience. Valley Solar was helpful to us before we even became customers, troubleshooting our system with us. They (Mitchell) were creative in saving part of our system and were able to use what we had. They are super-responsive by text and email and the team (Brian and crew)that came to …

Very professional team and super helpful. A tree fell on our line and they came out on the same day to fix it. This emergency service was amazing as we did not know what to do. I am so glad that we installed our solar panels with this company.

Wanted to give a shout out to the Valley Solar service team. I have an existing solar installation, but had a micro inverter fail on one of the panels. I did not have a company nearby that could help service my system, and Valley Solar was far away and would have been cost prohibitive to come just …

Why valley Solar

More Than a Solar Installer
Valley Solar Gives You More

Valley Solar combines local ownership, in-house expertise, proactive monitoring, and long-term service to help homeowners and businesses get the most from their solar and battery systems for years to come.

Choosing an Installer

Not All Solar Companies Operate the Same Way

Solar is a decades-long investment. The company behind your system influences its performance, service experience, warranty support, future upgrade options, and long-term accountability.

HOW VALLEY SOLAR COMPARES TO TYPICAL COMPANIES

MULTI-STATE PROVIDER · CENTRALIZED OPERATIONS

Typical National Installer

Large marketing and sales organizations designed to serve customers across multiple states and regions.

Strengths

  • Large sales, marketing, and financing organizations
  • Broad geographic coverage
  • Operational scale to support a high volume of projects
  • Established systems and processes

Tradeoffs

  • Solutions and processes are often designed independent of the local area
  • The people who install the system may not be the same people who support it later
  • Support is often routed through regional or national channels
  • Long-term accountability can become fragmented across multiple organizations

COMMUNITY-BASED · OWNER-OPERATED

Typical Local Installer

Community-focused companies that prioritize local relationships and direct customer interaction.

Stengths

  • Strong local relationships and community presence
  • Direct access to company leadership
  • Familiarity with local permitting and utility requirements
  • Personalized customer experience

Tradeoffs

  • Service capacity can be limited as demand grows
  • Monitoring and support capabilities vary significantly between providers
  • Fewer specialized resources for complex or highly customized projects
  • Long-term support resources depend heavily on company size and structure

LOCAL • ACCOUNTABILITY · OPERATIONAL DEPTH

The Valley Solar Difference

Valley Solar was built to combine the accountability of a local company with the operational capability typically associated with larger organizations.

What sets us apart

  • Locally owned and operated, with over 2,800 solar & storage systems installed in Massachusetts
  • Battery storage expertise including generator services for comprehensive backup solutions
  • Dedicated service teams for both solar & storage systems
  • Commercial expertise including customized O&M support

Why it matters

  • One team for the entire life of your system
  • Consistent quality from installation through long-term service
  • Faster support when issues arise
  • A company built to support systems for decades, not just install them
  • Monitoring, maintenance, and support under one roof

All solar installations include a 95% production guarantee backed by our SunAlert performance monitoring platform

OUR APPROACH

Built Differently for Long-Term Accountability

Installing a solar system is only the beginning. What happens after installation matters just as much. That’s why Valley Solar invested in the people, systems, and infrastructure needed to support customers for years after their system is turned on.

01

Built for Service

Many solar companies focus primarily on sales and installation. Valley Solar invested early in dedicated service infrastructure because we believe support is part of the product. Monitoring, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and long-term system support are core operational functions—not afterthoughts.

02

In-House Teams

Design, engineering, installation, electrical work, monitoring, and service are coordinated by Valley Solar’s in-house teams. Fewer handoffs create clearer communication, stronger accountability, and a more consistent customer experience throughout the life of the system.

03

Ready for What's Next

Solar is rarely the end of the conversation. Many homeowners eventually add battery storage, backup power, EV charging, electrical upgrades, or other energy technologies. Valley Solar designs systems with long-term flexibility in mind and has the expertise to support those additions when the time is right.

04

Performance You Can Count On

Every Valley Solar system includes SunAlert™ proactive monitoring and is backed by our 95% Production Guarantee. Rather than simply installing systems and hoping they perform, we actively monitor production, identify issues early, and stand behind the results.
